VAT

Value added tax (VAT) is included in the price of most goods and service. VAT refund may be claimed at airports, harbors and customs offices on items taken out of the country when the total value exceeds R 250,00.

Most credit cards as well as travelers checks are accepted.

BANKING HOURS

Monday to Friday 08:30-15:30
Saturday 08:30-11:00

O.R. Tambo International Airport offers a 24 hours banking service.

SHOPPING

South Africa has a wide range of shops, malls as well as informal street vendors and fleamarkets.
Shopping hours are generally : Weekdays 08:00-18:00, Saturdays 08:00-17:00.
Some shopping centers are open until 22:00 (depending on the area).

PRIVATE GAME PARKS AND NATIONAL RESERVES

The Kruger National Park is the most famous National Park in South Africa.

With a surface area of 19 000 km˛ the Kruger National Park is one of the largest national parks in the world and home to 147 species of mammals, 507 species of birds, 114 species of reptiles and approximately 1950 species of plants.

Rovos Rail : Rovos Rail, probably the most luxurious train in the world, offers various unique steam train safaris and exclusive trips between Pretoria and the Kruger National Park.
